A Day On Haleakala

Yesterday, Todd and I took the zig zag, one hour ride up to the 10,023 ft summit of Haleakala. We went from 90 degrees to about 50 degrees. The air was thin! Haleakala is an inactive volcano and at the top is an observation deck as well as a science observatory/defense lab. Todd and I only spent about 30 minutes at the top until we jumped back in the car to zig zag back to Christy's Bridal Shower and the Rehearsal Dinner. All in all a great day. Today is the wedding and even more adventure.

Sunset north.

The lower left is Molokini. We will be snorkeling there with the family Sunday!

  2. Next time take the tour where they take you to the top of the volcano for sunrise, and then you RIDE BIKES all the way down. It's supposed to be spectacular, and something that's on my list of things to do someday....

Do try to bear up, you look so sad in these pictures. Oh the strain you must be under!
